Dear Church Family,

One day while scuba diving in Bonaire, a small island in the Caribbean, I was down about 80 feet below the surface. Diving in the Caribbean, especially in the vicinity of Bonaire, is amazing because the water is so clear and there is so many varieties of fish and coral. I was following a group of clown fish and suddenly I came across a Lionfish, which are hard to find and extremely poisonous. I was fixated on this for several minutes. Later when I surfaced and was floating with several other divers I saw they were very excited about what they had just seen. I asked, “did you guys see a Lionfish too?” They said, “No, didn’t you see the whale?” Apparently a small whale swam right above where I was diving, and I never saw him. I was so focused on the Clown fish and Lionfish.

Sometimes we are like that in our churches. We spend our time focusing on so many good things that we lose sight of our church’s core mission. The reason for our church’s existence. Do you know what that is for BGBC?
