Dear Church Family,

Ever have one of those days that you thought you didn’t get much done. If you are having one of those days, or the next time you have one, remember this….today you traveled 1,599,793 miles through space. Understatement of the day; that’s a long way! You may think you are sitting still right now, but in fact you aren’t. You see our planet is spinning around its axis at a speed of 1,000 mph. Every 24 hours, our planet pulls of a celestial 360. We are also hurtling through space at an average velocity of 67,108 mph. That’s faster than the fastest bullet. It’s 87 times faster than the speed of sound. Now if that’s not a miracle, I don’t know what is. Here’s the thing. We don’t think about the truly “big” miracles. We just take them for granted. After all, when was the last time you thanked God for keeping us in orbit, or when you got out of bed this morning, you didn’t float up to your ceiling because of the miracle of gravity? We usually don’t just pray that way. Maybe that is just an exercise of faith. We already believe God for the big miracles. The trick is trusting him for the little ones, like asking God to heal my brother of his cancer; or, asking God to help us find a job; or, praying to bring peace and unity to a contentious relationship; or, asking God to help us forgive someone who has wronged us. Maybe if we take just a minute to consider the big, often overlooked miracles, like the fact that we inhale and exhale approximately 20,000 breaths a day, maybe we might trust God a little more for the “little” miracles.

On-Line Services:

We’ll continue posting my sermon on Sunday mornings, but there has been a change in the time. Instead of posting it at 11am, we’ll post it at 9:30am on the church Facebook page.

Future of the CWS: My hope and prayer is that we will be able to re-constitute the CWS once we locate and hire a new worship pastor and identify volunteers who can assist with the A/V requirements. Please pray for our Personnel Committee co-chairs as they lead out in the effort of finding a new worship pastor.

Re-gathering in our facility: It’s now been over a month since we temporarily halted our on-site worship services. We continue to monitor the status of the virus in our region and will “follow the science” and recommendations from our health professionals. Additionally, we will make sure that our own worship leaders, volunteers, and attendees feel safe and comfortable coming back to church before we restart our worship services.

Church Family News

Remember in prayer:

  1. Sherry Brillhart’s Brother, please pray for PAUL as he has had a medical setback
  2. Carrol Ray Schools, medical issues.
  3. Pastor Frank’s brother, Scott, recovery and good report from a cancer diagnosis.
  4. Lisa Shields, recovery from a recent medical procedure and a pending procedure
  5. All those in our congregation known and unknown who need prayers for a variety of issues.
  6. All our frontline workers, in and out of our church, who work hard each day serving and protecting us during this pandemic.

NOTE: With a temporary return to on-line services there is bound to be a lag in giving. So this is just a friendly reminder that you can still drop off or mail your tithes and offerings to the church. But, why do that when all you have to do is enroll in “E-giving” through REALM and have your donation automatically deducted each week. It’s simple, safe, and private. So, save a stamp and some of your time and enroll now.

I love you all,

Pastor Frank
