Dear Church Family,

As I write this on Monday it is the official start to the 2020 Hurricane season and right now there is tropical disturbance over the Yucatan Peninsula which may develop into the first hurricane of the season.  Talk about overlooking something.  With what has gone on these past few months with the Covid-19 pandemic and now the riots erupting in over 30 cities across our country, hurricanes and hurricane season almost seems passé.

This Sunday we will RE-GATHER as a church and there is nothing passé about that.   In fact, that in the middle of so much unrest and uncertainty, there is hope and excitement in just coming together as God’s people.  I know many will not come and understandably so.  They’re not ready and that’s okay.  But I sure am and I know many of you are.  Church will be different, it will look a little different, we’ll all look like we are ready to rob a bank.  We’ll all be standing a little farther apart, as if we have a severe case of halitosis.   We’ll be sitting a little farther apart as if we forgot our deodorant that morning.  But it will still be church.  Why?  Because God will be there.  How do we know that?  Because David the Psalmist said, “….He inhabits the praises of His people.” (Ps 22:3)  What that really means is that whether we are together under one roof, or sitting in our kitchen at home, or in a RV in a campground, HE IS THERE!  He promises to be there if we praise Him with our voices and lift up our prayers, give attention to His word, and our dedication to His ways.  I can’t wait to worship Him this Sunday WITH ALL OF YOU and I hope you feel the same way.

RE-GATHERING

With the loosening of restrictions by the Governor, we will soon be able to gather together as a church.  Starting June 7th @ 9:30am we will be coming together for our CWS in the FMC.  Our capacity will be 60 attendees.  Then on June 21st @ 11am we will begin our Traditional Worship Service (TWS) at 11am in the Sanctuary.  As we begin worshiping under the same roof, we will follow to the best of ability the social distancing protocols handed down by the Commonwealth.  There will be no Sunday School, no Children’s Church, no child care, and no Café.  Please read the detailed plan that I sent out in recent weeks and is posted on the website and church’s Facebook page.  We also have copies available on the door by the FMC and office.

Needless to say I miss all of you and can’t wait to see all of you in the very near future.

I love you all,

Pastor Frank
