 Our Staff:

SENIOR PASTOR GREG WEBBER

In the Greg Webber’s own words…

I grew up in a Catholic family in Winchester, Virginia and graduated from Handley High School, where I was involved in both music and athletics. I was also influenced by a Christian coach and a strong Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle Group. As I began a pathway to Christ in the F.C.A., I became involved in a non-denominational bible study at First Baptist Church. It was called “The Group”, and was started by a couple of college students…a forerunner of what we now call Small Group Ministry. I still find it amazing the people who God brought into my life in order to lead me to surrender my life to Christ at the age of sixteen.

Football and music have been an integral part of my life. After fifteen years in public education – fourteen of them coaching football – I surrendered to God’s call and attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where I graduated in 1993 with a Masters of Divinity degree. While in seminary, I served as Minister of Music at First Baptist Church in Lacombe, Louisiana.

I have served as a contemporary worship leader and Pastor of Outreach at Bon Air Baptist Church in Richmond. I have also served as Senior Pastor of Woolridge Road Church, a mission plant of Bon Air Baptist in Chesterfield, Virginia. I have had the privilege of serving as pastor to churches in Kentucky and Michigan, as well as Virginia.

I am incredibly blessed to be married to my best friend and soul mate, Kathy since 1973!

[I don’t suppose you would believe that we were only twelve years old when we were married? I didn’t think so.] We actually met as freshmen at Bluefield College.

Kathy works at the International Learning Center of the SBC International Mission Board. We have one daughter, Kristin, who resides in Richmond with her awesome husband, Jake and their two children, Ella and Milo. It is so cool that my grandson Milo and I share the same birth date!

I am still an avid student of history (biographies and battlefields), a football junkie (Go Irish…and da Bears!), a music lover (from Beethoven to The Beatles), and a motorcycle rider (which has increased Kathy’s prayer life!).

My anchor verse is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

Greg Webber began leading Bowling Green Baptist Church in the fall of 2011 after a year-long search process.  The church unanimously voted to elect Greg as it’s pastor and has enthusiastically welcomed them to the area.  You can contact Pastor Greg Webber by e-mailing jgregwebber@gmail.com.

WORSHIP LEADER GREG MACK

In Greg Mack’s own words…

I am originally from Buffalo, NY. . (Of course I am a Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan! ) I started playing guitar WAY BACK in High School while listening to what is now considered “Classic Rock”.  I have a beautiful wife (Chrissie) who saved my life back in October 2002 and we have 4 children(known as the Mack Clan)  who currently attend ALL of the Bowling Green schools.  We came to Bowling Green when I transferred to NSWC Dahlgren while on active duty in the US Navy.

I came to know Jesus Christ in 2005 when he knocked me upside the head attending Church services at Common Ground Christian Church at a Movie Theatre in Fredericksburg, VA and told me “It’s Time to walk with Me Greg”. I was soon baptized and have been active in Worship bands ever since.   Energetic is a word that I agree describes my style of Worship, and have found that God has given the gift of music as a way for me to TRULY connect with HIM. Though there are so many other ways that we Worship HIM, music puts me directly in touch with God and also allows me to lead others in the Worship Experience. That is my Mission. “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.” Psalm 100:1-2

Greg Mack leads morning worship every Sunday at the Freeway 8:36 service.  You can contact Greg Mack via e-mail at lvnthedream@verizon.net.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT SANDY TAYLOR

In Sandy Taylor’s own words…

I am a Caroline native, raised on a farm in the southern part of the county, and am the youngest of 6 children.  I always say that I was raised in the church—whenever the church doors were open, my family was there.  I have never known a life without God, and accepted Christ and was baptized byConcordBaptistChurchat the age of 9.  After moving toBowling Green, I started attendingBowling GreenBaptistChurchand joined with this church family many years ago.

My entire career has been in the secretarial/administrative field.  It’s been great to do what I enjoy doing and to serve the Lord at the same time!  While I have served in various capacities within the church over the years, I am currently a teacher for the Upper Zion Sunday School class.

One of my greatest joys comes from family.  My son, Brandon, and his wife, Nan, live inRichmondand have 2 children, Cate and Brett.  My daughter, Fran, lives in Woodford with her husband, Eugene, and has a daughter, Megan.  All of them are a real blessing in my life.

One of my favorite Bible verses is 1 Corinthians 13:13, “And now these three remain:  faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.” (NIV)
