I was born and raised in the Western North Carolina Mountains. My wife, the former Suzanne Sale, is a native of Caroline County and has been a member of BGBC since birth. We met at Fort Rucker, Alabama while attending the U. S. Army’s flight training school. We were married at BGBC in 1984 and I have been a member ever since. I retired from the U. S. Army in 2001. Having both grown up on farms, we continued to operate her family farm as the eighth generation, for thirty four (34) years and retired in 2017. Suzanne and I have a daughter, Shannon, who is currently serving on active duty in the U. S. Army. My son is currently serving on active duty in the U. S. Air Force. My oldest daughter is currently working as a Lead Early Childhood Program Consultant. We have five (5) granddaughters. I have previously served as Deacon for a three (3) year term and served a one (1) year term finishing a retired Deacon’s term. I serve on the nominating committee, the finance committee, the personnel committee and as a current Deacon.
