I was born and raised in northern NJ (no, I’m not a Virginia native!) by a French mother and an American father. My mother died when I was 8, and my Dad remarried a wonderful French Canadian woman who had been living in the States for a long time. I’m one of four sisters. I’m an identical twin; my twin still lives in NJ. I went to the College of William and Mary, and moved up to northern Virginia to work. I married Charles, my husband of 31 years, in 1988. At the time, we were not Christians. I accepted Christ in 1991, due in part to the tragic death of our first child. I was mostly a stay-at-home mom until 2 years ago, when I began working part time at American Family Fitness. I am now a personal trainer there.
When it comes to Christian ministry, I have volunteered in numerous positions. I have been a counselor at a crisis pregnancy center, and prayer coordinator at another one. I have been nursery coordinator at one church (3 years), and a prayer coordinator there as well, I was a volunteer leader for a Christian organization (FiSH) at Caroline Middle School for 3 years. Currently, I am a mentor with Young Lives, a ministry to pregnant and parenting teen moms. I have served in this capacity for 5 ½ years.
